Regional Farm Manager

Reports To: Chief Operations Officer (COO) 

Summary of Position:

Oversees all operating farms in their regional area to ensure structure and protocols are being adhered to. Communicates and provides assistance to Farm Managers as needed. Creates and maintains budgets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Handles administrative duties.
  • Negotiates sales and purchases of farms, crops and agricultural products.
  • Recruites Farm Managers and trains them on company procedure and protocols.
  • Daily or weekly site visits with each farming operation to inspect progress and ensure task completion and schedule/protocol adherence.
  • Weekly meetings with Farm Managers to discuss overall progress, concerns and needs for each farm.
  • Provides regular updates to (COO).
  • You may be asked to crosstrain and/or float to other departments as company needs require.

Skills:

  • Analytical, problem solving, and judgement/decision making.
  • Ability to negotiate sales.
  • Budget planning and management.  
  • Domain knowledge in all areas and aspects of farming and management.

Experience:

A well rounded background in farming and agriculture. Developing and managing a budget plan. Management and team building. Computer skills in microsoft office and excel or the ability to learn them quickly. 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness  or 5 years of experience in farm management.

Farm Manager

Reports To: Regional Farm Manager

Summary of Position:

Oversees and manages their farm operations to ensure structure and protocols are being adhered to. Communicates and provides assistance to their farm labor crew as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage their budget for farm needs i.e. tools, equipment, fertilizer, labor etc.
  • Direct and assign the work crews with daily and weekly job duties.
  • Hires and terminates Farm Laborers as needed.  
  • Ensures scheduling workforce for farming operations and time cards are completed and submitted to payroll in a timely manner.
  • Weekly meetings with Regional Farm Manager to discuss overall progress, concerns and needs for their farm.
  • Maintain and submit appropriate records such as receipts for all company purchases and employee related documents.
  • You may be asked to crosstrain and/or float to other departments as company needs require.

Skills:

  • Analytical, problem solving, and judgement/decision making.
  • Budget Management.

Farm Lead

Reports To: Farm Manager

Summary of Position:

Oversees and supervises the work crew as instructed by their Farm Manager to ensure structure and protocols are being adhered to. Communicates, works with, and provides assistance to the greenhouse labor crew as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the work crew as instructed by the Farm Manager.
  • Responsible for running errands to pick up materials needed as requested by Fam Manager.
  • Provides and oversees training to Farm Labor 1 and 2.
  • Ensure all required farm tasks get accomplished on a daily and weekly basis as assigned by their Farm Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, topping plants, identifying gender of plant and pulling males off the field, weed control, fixing leaks in the drip line, and fixing gopher holes etc. 
  • While working on the farm, observe and report anything of concern to the Farm Manager.
  • You may be asked to crosstrain and/or float to other departments as company needs require.

Skills:

  • Judgement/decision making.
  • Observant and takes action when needed. 
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Able to motivate and lead a team.
  • Organization and time management. 
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.

Experience:

A background in farming and agriculture. Team leadership.

Associates degree or a minimum of 2 years of agricultural experience.

Farm Labor 1

Reports To: Farm Lead

Summary of Position:

Adheres to the structure and protocols given to them. Communicates, works with, and provides assistance with other work crew members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete all required field tasks on a daily and weekly basis as assigned by their Farm Lead. This includes, but is not limited to, topping plants, identifying gender of plant and pulling males off the field, weed control, fixing leaks in the drip line, and fixing gopher holes etc. 
  • While working the field, observe and report anything of concern to the Farm Lead.
  • You may be asked to crosstrain and/or float to other departments as company needs require.

Skills:

  • Observant and takes action when needed. 
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.

Experience:

An understanding of or eagerness to learn farming and agriculture. 

Education:

Highschool degree and onsite training provided.

Farm Labor 2

Reports To: Farm Lead

Summary of Position:

Adheres to structure and protocols given to them by their Farm Lead. Communicates, works with, and provides assistance to the farm labor crew as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all required field tasks get accomplished on a daily and weekly basis as assigned by their Farm Lead. This includes, but is not limited to, topping plants, identifying gender of plant and pulling males off the field, weed control, fixing leaks in the drip line, and fixing gopher holes. 
  • Walks the field to ensure good health of the plants and report anything of concern to the Farm Lead.
  • Responsible for scheduled fertilizing and watering of the field. 
  • You may be asked to crosstrain and/or float to other departments as company needs require.

Skills:

  • Judgement/decision making.
  • Observant and takes action when needed. 
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Able to motivate and lead a team.
  • Organization and time management.

Lead Chemist

The Freedom CBD crew is looking to fill the position of lead chemist.

Lead Chemist job responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Ensuring all Biomass material received is in conformance with Freedom CBD’s quality program by performing necessary analytical tests.
  • Perform analytical tests on finished oil, insure finished oil conforms with desired results and quality standards
  • Perform recipe calculations for finished goods, test finished goods to ensure it conforms to desired results and quality standards.
  • Write SOPs for analytical testing, ensure SOPs are correct, up to date and are following GMPs (Good manufacturing practices.)
  • Set up and maintain lab equipment and ensure equipment is being used to its full potential.
  • Ensure lab testing inventory is in stock.
  • Work with Management writing weekly schedule
  • Work with Management to troubleshoot production issues and help to come up with action plans.
Education and Work history
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, food science or a related discipline preferred.
  • At least 3 years working in an analytical lab or similar field.
  • Familiarity with wiped film, roto evaporators, vacuum ovens.
  • Testing with HPLCs
Not necessary but preferred

At least 1 year working in a cannabis extraction facility using ethanol as the primary solvent.

The Freedom CBD crew is looking to fill the position of lead chemist.
